In a note posted to her Web site,
Tammy Faye Messner said doctors have stopped
her cancer treatment and she only weighs 65 pounds.
Messner, who lives in Matthews, was diagnosed
with colon cancer in 1996. Three years ago, in 2004,
she said she had lung cancer. In a December appearance on
"Larry King Live," Messner said the cancer had spread
from her colon to other parts of her body.
"The doctors have stopped trying to treat the cancer and so
now it's up to God and my faith," according
"And that's enough! But please continue to pray for the
pain and sick stomach."
In the letter, Messner also thanks her friends and fans for
the "tables full of cards, and beautiful little gifts laying everywhere"
and says that many have been helping to write thank you
notes as she has "been on so much medication."
