CUTE WITH CHRIS

I just came across CUTE WITH CHRIS

and had to share him with you all!

Cute with Chris is a three-minute video web series produced

in Los Angeles, California. The show is posted Monday and Thursday.

You can also find the show on MySpace and iTunes.
The show is written, produced, and anchored by Chris Leavins.

Visit CUTE WITH CHRIS & Chris Beyond The Cute blog!

Chris has acted on lots of TV shows, but they were Canadian TV shows so you probably haven’t heard of them. He was nominated for Canada’s version of the Emmy. It’s called the Gemini, but you probably haven’t heard of that either. He’s also been published in national magazines. The magazines are well-known, but people usually throw magazines in the garbage, or forget them on the bus.

Kiehl's for Dogs

Yorkies are a “single” coated breed, meaning that they do
not have an undercoat. Our coat is very similar to human hair,
but it is recommended to not use human shampoo on us!
You should always use a dog shampoo.
There are many good shampoos on the market.
Remember to be careful around the eyes.
And while you should not put human shampoo on a dog,
you can use dog shampoo on a human!
It's true! My daddy recently ran out of his shampoo,
and he grabbed my Kiehl's to use on his hair,
and it came our beautiful!
True story!
PS-NEVER LEAVE YOUR PUPPY UNATTENDED
ON A COUNTER OR TABLE…..THEY WILL WALK OR
JUMP OFF BEFORE YOU CAN BLINK AN EYE…..
GUARANTEED!
Then you will have a broken leg or worse.

Dancing Cat

I saw this online today and it made me laugh!
It has nothing to do with Yorkies,
but I thought I would share it,
and hopefully bring a smile to your face!

I was a Yorkie puppy with a web page when the Internet
was new and I've had a blessed life.
I've met hundreds of great pets and folks, I've been on TV, radio,
in books, and had millions of page views. I'd like to think I've made a
few people say "Ahhh" or laugh. As long as you keep clicking,
I'll always be with you.
There's a lot here to see and hear, so I hope you have fun exploring."

Page Six Cindy Adams and her Yorkies

TALK OF THE YORK
By Cindy Adams
(recently ran in the New York Post)
My Juicy is 4. My Jazzy Jr. is 3. Juicy, a girl,
is 31/2 pounds. The boy, my huge, killer attack dog Jazzy,
is 41/2 pounds. Trust me, Yorkies leave paw
prints on your heart.
Why? What's so great about a Yorkie?
A.) They're portable. I mean, try to go shopping
and stuff a Rottweiler in the pocket of your Carolina Herrera coat.

B.) They're snugglable. Jazzy is the only male currently sharing
my bed, but who needs any other? I put my cold feet on him.
He licks my face. And never bothers me next
morning with stupid questions like,
"So how was it for you?"

C.) They're lovable. They don't tell you when you have
a zit on your face or that you've gotten fat. They wait for you to
come home every night. They don't nag and ask where you've been.

D.) And Yorkies don't shed. They have hair, not fur,
so there is no dander, no problem for people with allergies.

When Joan Rivers lost her adored 19-year-old Spike,
she got herself another Yorkie. Amy Tan has two Yorkies.
Cupcake Nederlander, daughter of James Nederlander,
and Peaches Nederlander, daughter of James Nederlander Jr.,
have playdates with my Juicy and Jazzy. The Ralph Laurens' Yorkie,
Bikini, is the face in their ads. The Yorkie belonging to
Katherine Oliver, NYC's commissioner for TV and motion-picture
development, is Jazzy's cousin. Norman Sheresky, lawyer for
Christy Brinkley's divorcing husband, Peter Cook, has a
Yorkie named Biscuit. Biscuit, a product of my breeder,
Paula, is a relative of my Juicy.

New York is Yorkie country.
Of course, like anything with the name "York," they're tough.
A little demanding. I mean, Juicy is 31/2 pounds of pure selfish.
She owns nine of my 10 rooms. But she's very New York.
She loves The Post. Almost every night, I find her
poring over my column.

Do they ever cause difficulties? Yeah, oh yeah!
A Yorkie could have the house broken before they are.
And they're terriers. We're talking a slight habit of grabbing guys'
pants legs - with the guys' legs still in them.

And then there's the bills. Trainers, microchips, coats and sweaters,
grooming and hair bows, jeweled collars. Because they're now members
of the family, because today America spends $39 billion
a year on pets, little creatures with less hair than their
mothers have under the armpits are costing fortunes.
My two have teeth the size of bugle beads.
For a cleaning, including my 15 percent discount, $990.
Not that I don't love my vet, Dr. Berman. I do. I do.
But it's just that my own human dentist, Dr. Lazare, charges only $175.
Still, I love Jazzy and Juicy so much that in the will I'd leave
them my apartment if I thought they could pay the maintenance.

Liza's next song? "I Love New Yorkie."

Mr. Winkle is Not a Yorkie, but...

OK - SO HE'S NOT A YORKIE!
But Mr. Winkle has got to be the cutest dog on Earth,
next to the Yorkie!
In case you have been living under a rock,
and did not know the story...
It was late at night ten years ago,
in an industrial area near Bakersfield,
when Lara Jo Regan had an encounter that was to change her life.
The professional photographer (for Time, Newsweek, Life, etc.)
was on her way home from a photo shoot when she
stopped for coffee, then had trouble finding her
way back to the freeway.
“All of a sudden I saw this little thing hobbling
on the street between the railroad tracks and the road.
I didn’t know if it was a dog or something else.
I was just concerned it would run out in the road and get hurt.
So I pulled over and he kind of hobbled toward me.
He had no collar and no ID, but he did have lots
of little cuts and infections."
It’s understandable Lara didn’t know what he was.
Most people don’t. He weighs a whopping 5 pounds and
stands about 7 inches tall with a body that’s about a foot long.
“My boyfriend at the time was scared of him because he was so odd,”
Lara relates. “Mr. Winkle was like a
little alien that fell to earth,
and he was in such bad shape. I took him to numerous vets to
make sure he was ok and put him through a lot of tests.
It took about a year for him to get real healthy and to develop trust.
Soon I began to realize that he created mania wherever he went,
with crowds gathering around him, wanting to get a closer look.
That’s when I decided to photograph him.”
“I never wanted a dog… I never planned on having a dog.
But he just captivated my heart.
What came first was an aching need of wanting to share him
with the world through my art work.
Some things are put on this planet that are just “other worldly”
and sacred and beautiful, to remind us of what nature can make.
I think those things should be shared with the world.”

“Some people think I’m exploiting Mr. Winkle for the money,
but I find that really offensive because I’ve never
been someone who cared about money.
I’m very dedicated to my documentary and
photography work and my art.
I want to share him because he brings such joy and happiness to
people that I observed even before I started photographing him.
He’s so precious to me, and my “what is Mr. Winkle”
vision was so specific, I didn’t want any interference from
publishers or from the corporate world.
That’s why I decided to do an online business,
because I could control every aspect of it and
protect Mr. Winkle in the process.”
“Like all great comedians,” Lara continues,
“Mr. Winkle has an essential sadness to him because
of his background of abuse and neglect.
He’s the underdog because he’s so different.
But he’s also a product of nature.
As an artist I constantly go to nature for inspiration-
the patterns of leaves and flowers and how they interact-
you can’t make up anything that amazing.
Just like Mr. Winkle.
I call it perfect imperfections.”

SCARED POOPLESS - Dog Care

Sick Dogs & healthcare
There is a new book out called "Scared Poopless"
by Chiclet and Jan Rasmussen.
Chiclet is a straight-talking 4# Maltese, who wants
you to know the good, the bad, and the ugly about
canine healthcare. Scared Poopless has won 2 awards.
Jan decided to write the book because she had a sick dog
who was being treated for a serious liver disease. She decided
to take her dog to a holistic doctor and learned lots of new
information about dog care, which she shares in the book.
All author proceeds will benefit animal causes.

Yorkie Food and Treats

Our world is becoming more complex as each day passes.
Natural no longer has the same meaning as it once did, and with
the current rules in listing ingredients, a "Natural Diet" could be
filled with toxic chemicals.
YORKIE.org is a great site I found the other
with lots of great recipes on it for Yorkies!
Parmisean Herb Treats! Garden Beagle Bagels!
Chicken Liver Cookies! Magic Meatballs!
Can everybody say YUM?!

Cynthia Kage from Rhapsody Terriers

has a great site full of information and lots of recipes!

Cold Yorkies in the Midwest!

It is soooooo cold in Chicago this weekend,
I just don't want to move from under these covers!
My dad has an electric blanket and it is toasty in here!
and single digits outside! BRRRRR.
But I had to check my mail, and got some
cute, cute photos from Zoe, Sam and Juicy!
Thanks guys!
Hope it's a little warmer where you are!

Both short-haired and long-haired yorkies are

vulnerable to the cold. We are tiny creatures and have a small

body mass and so our body temperatures can

drop very quickly in cold weather...

Land of Miniature Yorkie Art

You see a lot of animal art out there,
but I came across this lady this week and
thought her hand-crafted items were so beautiful
and life-like, I wanted to share them with you!
"I have been doing art work, painting , crafts, computer graphics
for years. However I have never
experienced anything like Needle Felting."

"I stumbled upon a website about needle felting ,

I sent away for directions to making a bear and applied it to a dog...

and before I knew I had a cute little Yorkie!!!"

"I truly am in love with life, and I feel there

isn't enough time in the day to enjoy it!

I am an insulin dependent diabetic. So with every sale I

make selling these cuties, I donate a percent

to the American Diabetes Association."

( The dog on the right is real, the left is a little piece of art)

Stop by here site and see her work!
