Any Potty Training Ideas For Yorkies???

Any ideas for yorkie puppy potty training?
Our new little girl is about 11 weeks old.
The breeder said she used the
pads and was crated regularly. During the day,
she is out with us in the house
most of the time. She uses the pads once or twice a day then
the rest of the time, squats wherever!
At night, I know she cant hold it all night, so of course
she is having accidents in her crate - which
she has hated from day one. She cries constantly.
any thoughts???

IS A YORKIE THE RIGHT DOG FOR YOU?

People fall in love with tiny dogs!
They are like little toys!
But is a Yorkie right for you and your family?
Pros:
A true beauty
A lapdog who loves attention
Loyal to his owner
Vigilant watchdog

Cons:
Gorgeous coat must be groomed
AT LEAST three times a week -
unless you keep the coat short,
like a puppy cut.

S/he'll always bark - you can curb but not eliminate it
Usually do not get along with young children,
they prefer a quieter lifestyle
There’s enough terrier to cause them to chase moving
targets. Buy a good leather leash and body harness.

NOTE: I don’t recommend using a leash and collar for walks.
Attach a leash to a body harness, not a collar.
The collar is only to hold dog tags, not drag the dog around.
This is a small, somewhat fragile dog.
Tugging and pulling on the collar around your
dog’s neck can contribute to a collapsed trachea and
other neck damage. Use a body harness.
They do require attention and playtime.
They don't like being left alone
for hours on end.

PETS ON AIRPLANES

I have only flown myself twice! And I liked it,
but at the high altitudes, it was a little
difficult to breath. But I do enjoy traveling!
I found this tipsheet at
TIPS FOR FLYING WITH YOUR PET
Alert the airline of a pet when booking your flight to make sure
there’s room in the cabin.

Fly during a weekday when airports are less hectic.

Fly in the morning or evening during the summer and midday
during the winter to ensure safe temperatures for pets traveling as cargo.

Choose a nonstop, direct flight.
Exercise your pet before leaving to help it relax and sleep.

Do not feed or give water to your pet two hours before departure.
Check in at least two hours before time and have all paperwork ready.

Tape a note on the pet container with all relevant information:
name of the pet, age, destination and flight number.
Make sure the carry-on container will fit under the seat.

Familiarize your pet with its carrier before leaving home,
and make sure the pet is wearing tags or is micro chipped.

Have you traveled with your pet? How was the experience?
I look forward to hearing your stories
and adding to the list of helpful tips.

Kiehl's for Dogs

Yorkies are a “single” coated breed, meaning that they do
not have an undercoat. Our coat is very similar to human hair,
but it is recommended to not use human shampoo on us!
You should always use a dog shampoo.
There are many good shampoos on the market.
Remember to be careful around the eyes.
And while you should not put human shampoo on a dog,
you can use dog shampoo on a human!
It's true! My daddy recently ran out of his shampoo,
and he grabbed my Kiehl's to use on his hair,
and it came our beautiful!
True story!
PS-NEVER LEAVE YOUR PUPPY UNATTENDED
ON A COUNTER OR TABLE…..THEY WILL WALK OR
JUMP OFF BEFORE YOU CAN BLINK AN EYE…..
GUARANTEED!
Then you will have a broken leg or worse.
